Since 2022, Music Makers Tokyo has been a home for original music creators in Tokyo — a place to perform, connect, and celebrate what this city sounds like. That mission isn't changing. But starting after our March event, the people running things will be.
What's happening
After March, a new organizing team will be taking over day-to-day operations of Music Makers Tokyo. Soyogi will be leading the team, with Lorenz, Bjorn, and NamedRed helping run things. Together, they'll be responsible for planning events, managing the community, and keeping the spirit of MMT alive and growing.
David will be stepping away from the events to focus on his own creative projects. Juliusz will shift into a support role, continuing to help out with cameras and technical setup.
What stays the same
The name, the branding, the communication channels, the vibe — all of that remains. Music Makers Tokyo is still Music Makers Tokyo. The "Show Us What You Got" format, the community spaces, the mission of supporting original music creation in Tokyo — none of that is going anywhere. It's just being carried forward by new hands.
For now, the logistics stay the same too — same application forms, same RSVP process, same event structure. Over time, the new team may evolve things in their own direction, and we're fully supportive of that.
What's next
Our March event will be the last one run under the current organizing setup. If you've been part of this community — whether since the early days or just recently — we'd love to see you there.
After that, Soyogi and the new team take the reins. We're excited to see where they take things.
More details on the March event coming soon. As always, keep an eye on our usual channels for updates.
