We're restarting the Music Makers Tokyo Discord server, and it's taking over the role Reddit was meant to play. Reddit never really got adopted by the community, so we're moving that energy somewhere people actually want to hang out.
Based on a community poll, we're keeping the setup lean. Here's what Discord is for:
Longer online conversations — the kind that don't fit in an Instagram group chat Planning and discussing events — our monthly meetups, community initiatives, and gigs members are playing Streaming and live moments — presenting music live, sharing process, jamming, or just hanging out on voice Personal ads — forming bands, selling gear, asking for advice, finding collaborators The channel list reflects that:
#chat — general conversation #introductions — drop in and say hi #events — meetups, community initiatives, and gigs #live — for when we're streaming or jamming #board — a forum channel for bands, members, gear, gigs, and advice Instagram, Meetup, and Peatix all stay as they are. Discord is the place for everything in between.
